Is It Worth Paying Big Money On Toys For Children 18months To 2 Years? I Was Thinking A Train Set For?
my nephew whos 19 months old its like the remote controlled ones but way bigger and he could rid on it as the conductor. I dont have kids of my own so please parents tell me is this an awsome present or should it wait till he’s older? It is recommended for 18months to 3 years? Im in a giving mood and want to spoil him a bit,

No it’s not worth spending alot of money for a two year old,just get them something cheap and give them a Saveings Bond!
I have found with my kids that the thing they are most excited about for a present is the one I give away because they don’t play with it. I would say wait till he’s older for the big stuff.
My dad has a whole apartment full of toys for his cat, but she’s just as happy playing with an empty paper sack!
Maybe blocks or big legos…those help with development skills and are still fun…My twins are 4 and still play with their big wood blocks…

Really, NO.
My daughter is 20 months old, and I can say that almost every toy she has, was given to her….new or even VERY used. She plays with them, but not creatively…She plays with non-toys even MORE…like, for example, she has been carrying around the plastic packaging for a curtain rod that we bought 3 days ago. She screams when we take it away from her.
She plays a lot with her little stuffed animals…feeds them, makes them dance, and kiss each other. She has little detailed toys that keep her occupied in her carseat, but there is one thing I can safely say your nephew really NEEDS, if he doesn’t have it already, and those are:
BOOKS. Board books, word books, abc books, number/counting books. Because of books, my 20 month old can read numbers 1-12, can recite numbers 1-20, and can read every letter of the alphabet (can’t recite abc’s though), and can read about 5 words. She has had books in front of her since she was 6 months old.
The 2nd thing he needs is: SOMEONE TO READ THE BOOKS WITH ENTHUSIASM TO HIM.

My personal experience is not to spend too much money on one item because no matter how much the kid likes it at first, they tend to get bored with them very fast.

Children at that age are more interested in the things around them, as they are just starting to understand the things they see. If you want to spoil him, get him some really nice clothes or fancy books.
If you are planning on buying such a big item, ask the parents first to make sure they want such a big thing in their house…:)
Because of the space issue I would talk to the parents first, otherwise I think it could be really cool. Not that a less expensive gift isn’t perfectly good but all kids deserve a couple of really cool toys.
However you may find that he doesn’t enjoy it as much right away as he does when he is older. Don’t be discouraged if he doesn’t like it right away, some toys I thought were a waste later turned out to be the best things ever.
My son would have loved that train! First check with the parents to make sure there are no space issues, and make sure he likes ride on toys. If it all checks out, go for it. Just don’t get upset if he doesn’t play with it the way it was meant. Check to see if there is a place in the train to hide little toys and such. My son loves his ride on cars that have a spot under the seat to hide little cars.

Ask the parents first. They might be upset that you want to spend so much or may not have the space for it. My nephew had one and loved it. However, he outgrew it quickly, so it was a waste of money. You’d be better off buying a giant train table and the wooden tracks and trains to go with it–that will last him until he is 6 or so and can be replaced with lego mats when he’s older. He’ll only be able to use the ride on one for a year or two at most. The train table will be cooler and will cost the same, if not a bit more.
