Are All Disinfectant Wipes Safe For Children’s Toys?

I need to order disinfectant wipes for my church’s nursery. I was looking at our office depot business account, and only found a few options. I was wondering if all disinfectant wipes were safe for cleaning the toys.. especially since the toddlers put it all in their mouth.

Just to let you know, I would be leery of using wipes to disinfect toys. First, I used to work at a daycare, and we were told by our licensure that no wipes are approved by the daycare association because they do not contain enough bleach/ cleaning agents to effectively disinfect. We were told we can use them – but not as a cleaning replacement. We would still have to spray down everything at the end of the day.
Also, studies have found that if you use wipes on more than one thing, they actually work to spread germs instead of eliminate them. So, you could use a wipe for one toy, but you cannot use that same wipe to clean another one, no matter how small the toys are – germs will actually transfer!
I was very bummed when I learned this, because I LOVE wipes. I was disheartened, but now use a spray bottle and paper towel.

Make sure the only cleaner you are using is chlorine bleach (or all-natural cleaners like baking soda, but those don’t really disinfect). Bleach is generally the safest disinfectant, especially for kids who put stuff in their mouths.
